vlp1968 83 Posted February 17, 2011 Sliders are foods that go right through the pouch your band makes, into your big stomach. Things like mashed potatoes and icecream. Things that kind of melt in your mouth like chocolate and cake are sliders too. They will not fill you up so something to be carefull of. Also, as you can see by my examples, they are not healthy, high Protein foods.

Day Dreamer 23 Posted February 17, 2011 vlp - if you chew your food till it is watery mush, wouldn't it have the same effect as "slider" foods? Thanks!
ElfiePoo 109 Posted February 18, 2011 A slider is any food that goes immediately through the band and a lot has to do with its texture. Foods that clump (e.g. bread and cake) or foods that don't break down no matter how much you chew (e.g. eggs and ground beef) tend not to be sliders. My experience with 'chewing things to mush' is that it doesn't matter when it comes to my Protein and vegies. I can chew those suckers to mush but because of the texture, they're not going to slide through anyway. They'll sit on that band at least long enough that my hunger goes away...and that is the purpose of the band. .
