Question for my first fill

Should I wear jogging pants or Jeans for my first fill...and does it hurt

I've had 2 fills and 2 different experiences. I was nervous about my first one and had seen them demonstrated on You Tube. Each doctor did it differently; some with and without anesthetic. Mine was done without anesthetic and was virtually painless! I was so surprised. Her technique made all the difference in the world. However, when I had my second one, she was rushing because she had a full schedule and squeezed me in; resulting in her technique being less than perfect and it hurt a bit. I will make sure she takes her time next time.

As far as what you should wear, it's not like when you had surgery and had to wear loose clothing to not irritate the incisions. Just wear something easily accessible to get to the port - probably a top and bottom rather than a one-piece dress, that's all. You should be fine!! B)

I've only had one fill and it was virtually painless. He said there would be a "pinch' and that is what it felt like. Watching him wiggle the needle around was weird, but it didn't hurt. Congrats on the surgery and Happy weight loss.

Don't worry, this will be a breeze. Just make sure they let you drink Water before you leave to see if the band is too tight. They put 3 ccs in and had to take 1.5 out because the Water wouldn't go down. I've adjusted so I'm ready for my next fill. No sweet spot yet!

I wore jeans with no problem.

The needle stick feels just like a needle stick, a pinch, minor pain.

I did however, get faint. If you are one who tends to get woozy from certain things, I would caution the doctor/nurse first just so you don't stand up afterwards and then pass out--!! :)

I had my first fill yesterday, and it was a bit strange! They had me lay down first for the needle, then I had to stand up for fluoroscopy with this needle/syringe hanging out of my port. When I stood up after he injected me, I was a little wobbly! It didn't really hurt, I guess it was "first time" nerves.

HI!

I wear jeans everywhere, they are the ones that rest below my belly button so im safe, lol.

I lay down with a small pillow under the small of my back.

Doc numbs the area with a tiny needle. Tiny pinch, not painfull.

She then puts the fill needle in , draws all of the saline out to make sure its all in there.

Then injects the whole lot right back in , with the new amount included. She has NEVER missed my port, nor has she ever had to look for it, thank god. That would be a weard feeling.

I have a 9cc realize band with 8.25cc's in it. Good restriction.

Hope this helps a little, good luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
