Guest diet4ever Posted January 7, 2006 Karindb, First start out by contacting your ins company to see where you stand with the procedure. That takes about 2/3 weeks. If they deny you appeal the claim (30 days). Usually the drs office takes part in that by requesting medical records of your husbands current conditions, (diabetes, sleep apnea, asthma, high bp, etc.) I would also suggest that you write a letter along with the appeal stating all the right reasons for the surgery. I don't know why your dr isn't proactive in this. Is he a lap band surgeon? If he doesn't help with the appeal I believe you can get your own records. If all fails with ins co. then you can get a loan:mad:. If you feel uncomfortable later with his attitude, then go find another dr. Good Luck!
HarleyNana 10 Posted January 7, 2006 I hope you have insurance, if not, I'd think about a second mortgage on the house. Money you can pay back, only 1 life to live.
