I was banded on 12-28-10 and have found that this is a constant learning experience. You have to learn what works best for you so you will be successful. After losing 20-some pounds I stopped, BUT I could tell the inches where going! I have actually gone down a shirt size and two pant sizes!!. SO, you might want to think about how your clothes fit instead of what the scale says so much.

This is just my experience and everyone is so different. My medical support people always say the band is different for everyone and they are so right.

I would talk to your Dr. office and see what they advise. My Dr. office staff is awesome and are always so helpful when I have questions or concerns.

Hang in there and follow the advice the others who have posted gave. They are all right about the band being a tool and you have to learn how to use it and do your part. I look at it as not a diet, but a help with Portion Control.

Good luck to you and don't give up. biggrin.gif

I haven't hit that restriction that everyone mentions yet myself, and just passed on a fill at the docs yesterday. I'm watching my calories, exercising and it's working for as the weight is coming off. It is work and I have to be in control of what i'm doing. There were a lot of great suggestions here and i'm sure you'll find something that works for you until you hit that restriction point you are happy with. In the meantime, try to get the Protein in so it keeps you feeling full longer and count calories and exercise. A log helped me greatly when i first started.

Best of luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
