Plastic surgery

Recommended Posts

I know there's a plastic surgery forum but it's quiet over there. Has anyone done their due diligence as far as tummy tucks and breast lifts and (small) implants are concerned? I need minimal downtime because I have young kids and don't feel like sharing the information with anyone. I'd also prefer not to die on the table. Anyone have any thoughts? Any advice in general?

I had a Tummy Tuck and boob job Dec. 1. My experience was the boobs didn't hurt at all. For me, tummy tuck wasn't bad either. I did have a complication, I retained a lot of Fluid. He had to open me back up to clean it out. Everyone has different pain tolerances and reacts to anesthesia differently. My sister was pretty out of it for 2-3 days after her surgery, I was moving around almost immediately. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

How long was it before you were back to most activities???

I have 3 kids and I'm wanting to do both at the same time also. By the time I get it done my kids will be 1, 5, and 10.

How many weeks should I plan to need help with the two little ones?

vlp1968 - so you're saying that adding the boobs wouldn't cost anything as far as downtime is concerned? Did you get a lift as well? If had surgery on a Friday could I pick my kids up from school and appear normal on Monday or Tuesday? Thx!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
