Any one else disgusted?

Recommended Posts

I get disgusted with myself that I find it disgusting! I should be empathetic, should remember that was me once, but to be honest, i find it disgusting. I hate watching people stuff their faces, but then even though I did it myself I always did find it digusting.

One thing that really revolts me is people walking through malls eating - stuffing a hot dog or hot chips down their faces, and I loathe the current trend for walking around sucking on paper cups of coffee or smoothies. Its vulgar. I never ever did that, its just plain bad manners and vulgar. You want to eat in public, you sit down and do it nicely! I avoid the foodcourt because watching people gorge on KFC or McDonalds is really disgusting.

I know, I know, I'm awful, like a reformed smoker, but I cant help it. I can converse with anyone here talking about thier food issues or inability to give up junk and not feel disgusted, i truly want to help. But to watch it makes me sick.

Thanks, you said exactly what I was thinking, I feel like a reformed smoker(again)! I am a reformed smoker so I see the vulgarity of that habit. But, now, I see the oveeating and feel the same way. I was, and probably still am, a food addict. I have successfully made it to goal and am maintanance, but still think of food! I see the awful amounts that the food pusher restuarants give us,and am appalled. But, so many people think they need to finish their dinners. My son, whom I dearly love, has started the path to lapband. He needs to loose

probably 100 lbs. Last month just cutting his plate size to salad plate, he lost 9 lbs with out any pills or other special diets!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
