Any easy at home exercises?

Recommended Posts

K, so heres the deal.

I am a house wife, I don't have a car, my husband doesn't get off work sometimes until 8pm.

I would love to add exercise into my plan.

I really don't want to spend any money on videos, equipment, ect.

So I am wondering if there are any equipment free exercises that would benefit me?

Please, any input!

Thank you!

I took a class after my surgery. 6 weeks (one day a week) nutrition and exercise. Every week we cover a different exercise. machines, strenght, that big rubber ball. But one of the weeks was just stuff you could do at home with no equipment. I can't remember everything but the couple of things I do remember were.

1. sit on a chair and stand up. repeat. i was suprised how tired you get. don't use your hands/arms to get up off the chair if you don't have to.

2.) push ups against the wall. the farther away your feet are the harder the push up.

I bet if you googled it you could find lots.

Good Luck to you.

http://www.exercisetv.tv/ has a lot of videos for free

You can do stuff like jogging in place, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups... videos are good though, some of those are really great workouts! and probably the best option for working out at home.

The first 7 months after surgery I didn't go to a gym.. all I did was walk my dog(s) (got two more during that time). I started with just walking up and down my long driveway..and by the time I started at the gym I was walking a mile or more a day.

Think about military exercises. I had two car accidents and couldn't use weights or machine for two years. Here's what I did:

Three sets of 20 situps (normal) -- Abs / core

Three sets of 20 air squats - Legs / core

Three sets of 1 minute plank - Whole body / core

Three sets of 20 pushups (use knee pushups if you're not core steady enough to do full pushups) - Upper body / core

Three sets of 20 situps (bicycle, side twist, reach, anything other than normal) - Abs / core

The whole workout takes about 30-40 minutes.

You can also incorporate wall pushups, jumping jacks, leg lifts, etc.

Your focus should be to strengthen your core, it will make everything else easier. If you can get any single piece of equipment get a kettlebell. Around 35 lbs - 55 lbs and do kettlebell swings. They are a full body workout and the whole workout takes about 20 minutes twice a week.

Walking, progressing into running.

Google circuit training too, there's a zillion ways to put a home circuit together. Pushups, dips, situps, I even sometimes do modified chinups and pullups on the trampoline turned upside down in the back yard (use the frame as a bar), heck, I jump on the trampoline! You could use a skipping rope too.

If you have digital cable tgere is a little known jem on there...its an on demand exercise channel witb tobs of at hime videos. Also you tube has some and the exercisetv.com

If I were tou I would invest in a few simple/cheaper things. A ketle ball being one and some resistance bands.

getting started is the hardest but you csn do it!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
