Amanda1982 142 Posted February 11, 2011 my surgery date is March 1, which means my pre-op diet starts on valentines day ironically, I have been reading some of the other peoples' posts on here and my doctor is requiring my pre-op diet to be slimfast. Anyone else out there required to do the same? No, they gave me a list of Protein shakes.. But said as long as they had less than 5 carbs and at least 15 grams of Protein they where fine. Slimfast was on the list but it had to be low carb. Good Luck

Anyone else out there required to do the same? It seems like everyones pre-op diet (if they have one) is a little different. I've seen some who have used SlimFast, Carnation or the Atkins shakes. I unfortunately have to use Optifast which I've heard doesn't taste very good and is expensive. Atleast I can have sugar free popsicles
MelissaNJ 0 Posted February 12, 2011 I am scheduled for March 11. I am just waiting for my insureance approval. Hopefully I get approved quickly and can have the surgery sooner. I only have to do a week for the pre op diet and it can be any type of Protein Drink.< /p>
