I had the surgery 3 weeks ago and won't get a fill for another 4 weeks. I am STARVING and my stomach growls constantly. Is this hunger normal?

I am in the same exact boat as you. My lap band was 3 weeks ago today, and I have found my hunger has returned. I'm trying to be good, but I feel myself leaning towards the dark side LOL. Check my past post; I did a pretty big write up a few days ago on this very subject and good luck!

Are you on solids yet? Well, just make sure you get tons of Protein in! at least 60 grams and stop the shakes and get as much solid food as you are aloud to eat. That should help. I was lucky and I didn't have crazy hunger before my fill.

I guess some people call this "bandster hell" I was also lucky in that I got 5.5ccs on my first fill. Some doctors only do 0.5ccs at a time, then it takes forever to be not hungry. Overall the band will stop your hunger, but it won't stop you from eating. Pay attention to your body and what it's telling you.

Heather is right, and make sure you are really hungry and it's not head hunger. My Dr says that a growling tummy is just gas in your intenstines. It does NOT mean you're hungry. Being 5 months post op I've found this to be true.
