Blue Jeans & the port.....

Recommended Posts

Try old navy for low rise jeans in plus sizes - that's where I get mine - they have different degrees of low rise - really, really low, mid low and then normal higher cut. I like the low rise - not so much the super low. Maybe this will help? I couldn't live without jeans!

Thanks for the info! I'll check them out! I found a website yesterday called classiccloseouts.com. They have all this brand name stuff really cheap. They had some plus size jeans that were low rise & had spandex in them for $14.99 (size 24-18W). They also had some plus size tops. Thought I would share my good find with y'all!

I haven't had this problem with my port and jeans. My port really seems to be in a good place for me. I'm so short waisted I wondered before surgery if it would ever be in my way or uncomfortable... so far no problems. It is above my waist line but it isn't so close to my ribs that it bothers me. I'm so glad my Dr. tucked it away nicely. Hope as I lose more weight it won't bother me.

I have the same problem. BUT I found a pair of(now don't laugh-lol) "Jessica Simpson's" jeans at The Avenue. They are low rise & fit very well. I will say though sometimes when I sit for long periods I still like to unbutton them b/c of the port area. They are very baggy though when your standing. Go try them out> They're always having a 20% off sale & you can get emails of their coupons if you give them your email addy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
