I was curious to know what maximum workouts is everybody doing and food plans to get the maximum results. I know that everybody is different but still I figured I would ask. In addition, I have am going to be in a wedding in May and am trying to be the official 199 at least by then. Any Help you could provide would be great!!! Love you Ladies....and Gents of course!!!! TKW 501 Posted February 8, 2011 I work out at the gym 6 - 7 days a week. 40 min cardio, 30 min strength training. As far as diet, I count my calories and keep track of my protien. I eat 1200 - 1400 calories a day.
reverie 49 Posted February 8, 2011 I work out 6 days a week doing P90X. 1200 calories or below. No more than 60 carbs, 50g of fat, at least 105g Protein a day. I think it's worked well...16lbs to go.
emjay 8 Posted February 8, 2011 I average about 5x/week cardio/strength training. 35 minutes on treadmill or elliptical and about 20-25 minutes on strength machines (which I believe is KEY). As far as calories, I average around 1500-1600/day at this point. I also drink 2 Protein shakes a day to keep my Protein up along with cottage cheese, yogurt, nuts, dried fruit, lean meats/poultry/fish. I don't eat alot of red meat anymore and focus on eating healthier. If we hike, it's usually for 45-50 minutes whenever the weather agrees. In the beginning, just try to develop healthier habits and being more active and gradually build up your intensity. It may seem like a mountain to climb at first, but it does and will get easier. When I started, I couldn't go 2 minutes on the elliptical without being out of breath. Now, I wouldn't even break a sweat at the pace I was going back then. Baby steps! BUT, don't be afraid to push yourself. food - try and stay away from fried foods as much as possible. Limit your "white" foods also - Pasta, potatoes, rice, sugar, flour, bread. I say limit because depriving yourself completely may make you crave them all the more. Find new ways of preparing foods that are healthier - a crock pot/slow cooker can be your best friend. Best of luck! Your on your way!

He came home & told me he'd really like to have it. No doubt you are in a lot better shape than i am, but is this something that i might be able to do? I'm doing zumba 3-4 days a week, mixed in with the elliptical and some minor weight workouts. If i thought we'd both get use out of it, i might consider shelling out the money but i'm afraid it might be too intense for me but to get the older less intense version might not be enough for him. Thanks
LapNYC 3 Posted February 9, 2011 I restrict carbs, weight train four times per week and bike for cardio five times per week. It hasn't been hard, but I've rarely veered off this course. Best of luck and I hope you meet your onederland goal for that wedding!

Thanks I love it! I'm only on day 3 today (I finished up P90M first last week) and I definitely feel it..everywhere. I'm doing the lean version, not the classic version, so it's more cardio than it is lifting (3 days cardio, 2 lift days). Your son would probably want to do the classic version. I didn't pay for it but you will probably be able to find it cheaper on eBay. Check out Craigslist as well. PM me for some ideas if you want. Even if you can't do the entire video, you will be able to in time, that's the great part. If you can only do half of it right now, so what? In time you'll see your progression. I started out doing Slim-in-6, then went to P90, then P90M, and now P90X. After X I plan to do a mix between it and Insanity. I think you'd get great use out of it. Like I said even if you can't finish, or you have to pause a lot, the fact is you completed it , and in time you'll be able to breeze through it with no problem. I say go for it! When I started with slim-in-6 I was panting like a dog the first week but by the end of week 6 it was easy. Progression is key. I don't think you'd regret buying it. Jachut 487 Posted February 10, 2011 Everyone is different - for me what's worked brilliantly and is a comfortable way to live forever is simply a 3 meal a day nothing in between plan incorporating foods from ALL food groups - basically eat what I want but avoid junk kind of thing, and lots and lots and lots of cardio. I only do enough strength training - in the form of bodyweight stuff incorporated into circuit training (so basically cardio) to preserve and tone my muscle rather than grow lots of it and I mainly run most days. its pretty low tech and old fashioned, but it really works. Anything does if you do it 100%. its a matter of finding a comfortable fit for you and not being swayed by popular opinion, which lets face it, turns out to be "wrong" every decade when something new becomes the latest fad.
