Today is Sunday Feb. 6, 2011, .1:00 pm I am down to 236.5 down 12.5 from 249 as of Jan 15, 2011. So excited. out of the 40's.

This morning I had oatmeal with 1/2 tsp. of butter. coffee (lots) with hazelnut Creamer sprinkled with cinnamon. I have prob. 32 oz. of Water with peach tea flavoring so far. At 2:00 i will have a Jillian whey Choc. Protein Shake with 1 cup of ice, 1/2 banana, 2 tbsp. of p.nut butter, 1 scoop of Protein powder, 1/2 cup 1% milk and 1 cup of water. Put into my bullet blender and have a great Protein shake.

It is now 4:30 and I just had a big bowl of Healthy Choice chicken Noodle. Lower Sodium (390 g).

I am staying away from high sodium stuff it set me back a week ago today by 4 lbs. and it took me all week to get those 4 lbs off again. No more. Sip on 32 oz. water thru evening.

around 7 tonight i will have a salad with johsonville salami snack bites (prob 4 or 5) slices up in the salad. i put lettuce, little onions, banana peppers, a few olives, cucumber, a few baby tomato's. dressing is homemade by my wonderful husband. Not sure but low fat, low cal. low carb. very little sodium. Another 32 oz water.

I may be wrong here and if a nutritionist is monitoring then feel free to correct me if I am. Based on what you posted it seems that you greatly increased your Fiber intake and took in a lot of Fluid your gut probably hasn't seen that much Fiber in a while and that combination (fiber and water) does swell due to the water retention. Just keep an eye on your calorie intake and stop getting on the scale every day. Mark where your weight is now in your food diary and over the next week or so see if a trend, in either direction, is apparent. A short term change in weight with a significant dietary change should not be a reason to shout "take it to the dump" and throw in the towel. Stick to it, you have done fantasticly well so please don't be discouraged by this little speed bump in your journey.

If weight starts to trend back down 1-3 pounds a week, SUPER. If it continues an upward trend, then look at how many calories you are taking in more closely, there may be hidden calories in your diet that you may have overlooked. Also look at your activity level are you too sedentary could you benifit from the guidence of a personal trainer for a short period to honestly evaluate your exercise level and make suggestions for improvement. Finally walk walk walk, if you are physically able to. If you live in the frozen north drive to the mall slip on the ol' tennies and go up and down the mall to get a mile or two in a day, that's unless you decide to buy something. :) I live in Tampa and 9 months of the year it's too hot and humid to walk outside. You should see the large numbers of folks walking the mall we have one that is 1 mile long round trip from beginning to end.

Sounds like you have a supportive husband and thats a great asset so keep at it and try not to get depressed about this, you'll do fine and good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
