kassy_360 3 Posted February 7, 2011 I am already at a stand still and am only 5 months post op and down about 38 pounds. I have approx. 8cc's in a 14 cc band and feel nothing.. zippo.. the big fat goose egg. I can eat just like I did pre band comfortably. Theres a few things I don't tolerate as far as stuckage but I can still eat at least double the normal size plate the nutritionist has in her office. The weight I have lost has been strickly from the pre op and diet on my own since. If I could do this thru diet and exersize over the past 20+ years I would have but I'm not so sure this band has helped at all. I am willing to put in the work but expected a little cooperation from the band.. I'm very discouraged.
Rsilversea 2 Posted February 7, 2011 It's only been 5 months. You're being too hard on yourself. You have done a great job losing so far. What I have discovered is that the band is possibly 10% and the rest is up to me. Give it time.
Kalia Jade 0 Posted February 8, 2011 I would definitely discuss this with your doctor. It sounds like you need a fill. It takes most people a while to find their "sweet spot." Once you find it, you will not be able to eat large portions and there are some foods that will get stuck no matter how much you chew them. Stay in touch with your doctor and DON'T feel like a failure...the band will work, you're just not at your sweet spot yet.
