TylerAshton567 0 Posted February 6, 2011 So I had surgery last wed. And I was able to progress to soft foods yesterday then solids today. Ny dr told my parents he did do alittle bit of a fill during surgery. But I don't rly feel any restrictions instead I feel a sharp pain in my right side. Is this normal or wat could it be? amberakamom 13 Posted February 6, 2011 Wow, solids after 1 week is really fast. I am still on full liquids and can feel restriction. My band is empty.

amberakamom 13 Posted February 6, 2011 All doctors are so different! I don't get soft foods until week 6.
Mommyto1 1 Posted February 6, 2011 All doctors are different. My doctor had me on Clear Liquids for 3 days, then Protein Shake and full liquids from 3 days post-op to about 2 weeks post op. Then I was able to move on to soft foods. Maybe your body isn't ready for soft foods. Do you have that discomfort when you have liquids/protein shakes? thsisme 14 Posted February 6, 2011 Your port is on your right upper abdominal area and is usually the slowest to heal. This might be the cause of your soreness.
TylerAshton567 0 Posted February 6, 2011 I'm sry my pain is in my left side its only after I eat. But then a few minutes ago I noticed when I burped a tiny bit of food came up with it so I think the discomfort is prolly from eating so tomorrow I'm gonna just do liquids and give my body more time to recover even tho my dr said I could eat. tiggi 0 Posted February 6, 2011 ya that seems fast for even soft foods. my doc requires a week of clears, then a week of full liquids, then soft foods. but like someone already said, theyre all different. Hope youre feeling better
