sean342125 0 Posted February 1, 2011 Hello everyone, I was banded on 1/24 and I'm trying to gameplan for when I get off the post-op diet. I know that journaling is the smartest thing to do, but the problem for me is I work long hours and have 4 kids at home so it gets a little tricky taking the time the journal everything I eat. I'm not trying to make excuses... just trying to maybe simplify the process. Anybody know of any apps for a Droid phone that journal or do anything of that nature... thinking it would be a good idea if it were out there.... would make it convenient for people on the go. happygirl65 5 Posted February 1, 2011 Myfitnesspal.com has an online tracker and an android app so you can use whichever is convenient at the moment. I use the phone interface during the day and check in for notes and stuff on the computer sometimes...it is really cool and has a HUGE dtabase plus you can program it with your own recipes so I can put in...Tori's chicken taco and it will know what that means and add the right amount of Protein calores and fat. It takes a little work to put in your recipes but you can also find substitues in the large database. It's simple. I love it. Lost 20 lbs before surgery just using that and keeping accountable. I have a Droid and use the Calorie Counter Ap. Its free and you can synch with fatsecret.com Its the hadiest ap EVER!!!! It has regular foods, a bar code scanner if you find a food not on the ap (I have found only 1 in 7 weeks) and restaurant foods ....Perfect example... I had my first fill last week and was on liquids. We met my in-laws for lunch @ Applebees. I checked my calorie counter... looked up chicken noodle Soup from Applebees and just like that had all the info I needed! (160 calories) I love it!
emsbugbug 7 Posted February 1, 2011 I tried both Spark People and myfitnesspal and decided that I like Spark People better. The database is much larger and I have my own food items posted in it. Try them both and see how you like them. Your opinion may be different than mine. I would like to know the one that you can scan...that would be convenient! FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted February 1, 2011 I may have to check that out! The database is pretty extensive. For example if you look up whole wheat bread you can select from generic bread... or 27 different store brands. It also lets you adjust the serving sizes on many items which is very cool. If you want to track your exercise you can also do that too.
