Barely Breathing

I was banded on 1/25 and I am doing pretty good, I had a set back that put me back in the hospital for another night but my recovery is moving right along now. I do find that my chest feels really tight and I have a hard time breathing (beyond the hurts when I take a deep breath), this is worse when I lay down. Has anyone else had this issue?

Some degree of difficulty is expected... however, you've got to keep ahead of bronchitis/pneumonia by faithfully practicing your respiratory hygiene.

Every hour, use the incentive spirometer from the hospital (if you don't have one... slowly/deeply inhale and exhale through pursed lips) use a small pillow/rolled towel to splint your abdomen. In addition, breathe deeply and cough a few times... try doing this after you've had a pain med, when it's not as painful.;)

Walking around will also help loosen secretions and aerate your lungs.

I KNOW it's some unpleasant stuff, but it sure beats getting pneumonia!!!:juggle:

Best of luck... let me know how you're doing

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
