I was banded on Thursday, 1/27/11. So far, so good. Mr doctor included a pain medication pump that I had to remove today. It must have done what it was supposed to do as I have had no real pain.....just a little soreness (except when I cough or sneeze, but I expected that). My husband went and picked up the pain meds that he prescribed for after the pump removal but I have not yet had to take anything. I was on Clear Liquids for the first 3 days and then allowed to start adding thicker liquids and Protein Drinks today. Not having any problem swallowing or consuming liquids........just afraid that I might overdo it...............not hungry at all.

I was banded on 1/25, have had no real hunger either but I do have to stay on top of the pain meds but the paid does get better each day than it was the day before. Just remember that pain meds work better if you keep on them as prescribed, it's harder for them to take pain away once it is established....someone told me that and it is good advice. The walking does help with gas pain but be careful not to overdo it! I am noticing I get lightheaded when I walk for more than 20 minutes or so since I am not taking in very many calories....tomorrow I am going to walk AFTER I eat and see if that helps :)

Good luck to you! Glad you are feeling good. THat is awesome. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
