Strange stomach pain

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I have this weird pain that started last night. It only happens when I eat. I feel like my band is closing off and I can't breathe and it hurts to move in any way. I will eat about two bites of food and it hurts in my chest so I stop. Well about an hour later I start getting that feeling like someone has punched me in the stomach. I don't have a fill and I'm six weeks out and this is the first that this has happened to me it's so painful that all I can do us lay there and cry in agony. It's awful. I was just wondering if anyone has felt this before or may e you have an idea as to what it is. Thanks for your help.

Amber, you should be giving your surgeon a call, especially if you are in so much pain you are crying. Best wishes.

You should really call your doctor. It could be an infection or something not good. I started to get a pain an hour after my recent doc appointment and not even 2 days later unable to eat or drink wihout being in pain and also not being able tO move much etc I went back for a check up and was admitted right away and given tons of meds to avoif infection whic might be causing my band pain

Good luck

the bites of food you eat before the pain... what are you eating? maybe its a food your band can't tolerate. mine happens to be hamburger.

are you eating tiny, tiny bites and c-h-e-w-i-n-g a lot?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
