feedrate 0 Posted January 29, 2011 Yesterday the 28th I received my second band. I was banded in may of 2005, I lost 130lbs and every thing was going great. Then after about 2.5 years I started throwing up and couldn't eat. Went to Dr. and was to tight, then too loose, then too tight. Then I got to a point to where they couldn't pull any Fluid from my band at all. Thought it had went flat. Well I knew more then the Dr's of course I did. I started eating cheetoes and eating refied Beans with lots of cheese. Milk shake every now and then, after all it would go right thru and no it wouldn't show up. WRONG I gained back 100 pounds. Still throwing up and sick daily I I said I give. Talked to my Dr. and agreed to let him go in and look around. When I woke up I had a brand new band. He found that I had a hernia that was pushing on the band and making me tight. I was surprised when they told me he put in a new band because before I went to sleep he told me that if the band was flat he would just remove it. I feel good today except for being sore. I know that I will have to work harder this time but I believe that I can get the weight off again. So I have seen some that are wishing that they never had done it and to them I say I have been there. But you cant expect the band to do it all and you cant try to fool it. Then again as my Dr. said some people just cant tolerate the band. Any way I am happy to try again.

You will say I can eat this twinki and not eat supper, but you will and then one day you will wake up and say I am back at sq. one. Believe me I know. I thought I could live on two or three bags of cheetos a day. Nothing else would stay down so I thought I was ok. Got my fingers crossed for you Dave

I hit a plateau. But I was in a size 12 and happy, so I just maintained...until I moved and gained 50 pounds. I thought for sure after maintaining that loss for 2 1/2 years that there was no way I could gain it back. So lately I've rationalized it by saying, well, it was only 36 pounds. But I needed to read your post. It doesn't matter how many pounds it is. If you quit trying, you will gain the weight back. (big sigh) but good reminder... Welcome back and good luck!
