bebe1969 0 Posted January 29, 2011 Hello, I am new to the forum. I was banded July 2010 and was at 260lb and am now at 218lb. I have been working pretty hard and have had three fills. After each of the fills I am hopeful that I will feel restriction, but to this day I can still eat anything I want without feeling any restriction. Yes, the weight is decreasing, but I don't feel it is because I am restricted by the band. Has anyone else ever had this? Thanks for all the discussions here. It is nice to have such a large community of support. bebe1969
PackersFan 4 Posted January 31, 2011 Hi Bebe, What size band do you have, and how much total fill so far?
bebe1969 0 Posted January 31, 2011 Hi Bebe, What size band do you have, and how much total fill so far? I have the standard 10cc band and have had fills that total up to 6cc. The last one was last week and I feel full longer, but still am able to eat to much without feeling uncomfortable/getting stuck/or vomiting(which I have never done since the band). Any thoughts? happygirl65 5 Posted January 31, 2011 As you are losing weight the band gets looser due to the fat loss in your stomach perhaps? So your fills are helping it keep up to where it has been and not getting further ahead. My doc says that the band doesn't make you stop eating, you have to do that. You should measure your food eat the right amount and walk away...basically the band helps you not be hungry when you choose to eat smaller amounts it sends that signal to your brain...and just because you can eat more does not mean that you should....if you eat your measured servings and are hungry in 2 hours you need another fill....that is what they have told me anyway. I think it may be a blessing that you have never gotten uncomfortable, stuck, or vomitted from the band. That is awesome because you are still losing weight based on YOUR choices...celebrate that! You deserve all the credit for that. Just try NOT to eat to much...especially if you know it is too much, you don't want to damage or stretch the stoma. Best wishes to you!!!!
