nurse_b11 0 Posted January 29, 2011 I am really worried about eating real foods in a couple weeks. I know that I need to eat lots of Protein like chicken and Beans. What is a typical menu for a day for someone? I am really scared about stuff getting stuck.
zeniada 9 Posted January 29, 2011 If you eat slow and chew well you shouldnt get stuck..That said I should take my own advice... I usually eat: Breakfast: 1 cup oatmeal with milk and fruit mixed in. Snack: carrot sticks or yogurt or Protein shake Lunch: chicken salad Snack: small bag of baked chips or popcorn or Protein Shake Dinner: 4 oz of meat with either a salad or 1/2 cup steamed veggies and 1/4 cup starch if I'm still hungry Snack: cup of coffee and toast if I'm hungry I have not been able to eat rice, Pasta or soft bread with out getting stuck and throwing up so I would be careful of those if I were you. I eat a lot of fish, shrimp and grilled chicken strips I put on my salad. I have a hard time with baked chicken, have yet to try steak and pork. Oh and eggs are a pain as well so I limit those. I will have a Protein Shake when I feel hungry but not so much anymore. Good Luck.
nurse_b11 0 Posted January 30, 2011 Oh and eggs are a pain as well so I limit those. Thank you. That helps a lot. Why are eggs a pain. I thought that since they were a "soft" food that they would be okay. Do you have to weigh your food? Should I get a food scale to carry around with me, lol? zeniada 9 Posted January 30, 2011 Dont know why eggs dont go down well they just get stuck for me...I dont weigh even though I should...I just eat till I feel satisfied... not all "soft" food is good like bread is soft but it gets stuck, mashed potatoes are soft but they get stuck as well... zeniada 9 Posted January 30, 2011 I don't have problems eating anything, was banded 12/27 and have no fill yet. I was like that until my 2nd fill I have the small 4cc band and I dont need too many fills...after 2nd fill i got too tight and had to have an unfill now I'm better can eat well but will get stuck on certain kinds of food if I'm not careful... zeniada 9 Posted January 30, 2011 OH......I wonder what will happen to me after a fill! I will know in a week or two! If this is your first fill and you have a 10 or 14cc band unfortunatly you probably wont feel anything...but dont get dissapointed you will feel restriction soon just keep eating well and measure your portions. Good Luck
