Sojourner 2,446 Posted September 4, 2012 I have been reading on here since I got approved , and I never read how hard it is to go to restroom , I am post op one day far , and I feel like I pee like a old man , stop and go , is there a reason for it or am I the only one who is having that problem If you have been taking opiate based pain medications, they can interfere with all bodily functions...I really dislike taking them for that reason. It makes everything in me seem to "shut down". I'm pleased to read that you are doing better now...
losingit919 13 Posted October 2, 2012 Do they put Catheters in women? I didn't have one. They had me go to the restroom before I could leave the hospital on surgery day.

loserbob 11 Posted November 10, 2012 Im guessing you are or should be on an all liquid diet. I must have read it wrong, I thought you where going to much. I had a catheter and my nurse joked with me, she told me if I gave her any s%^t she'd pull it out while still inflated!
LeeB1946 261 Posted April 15, 2013 Had the same issue. I finally toward the end of the day after surgery I was able to give them enough it made the nurses happy. The night after surgery I had an ulta sound and the nurse said she might have to use a cath. As a guy tht is not something you want done without anesthesia. Never had one put in while awake, but have been told it is not pleasant. Removing when one is awake is an eye crosser for sure.
