anmullard 0 Posted January 28, 2011 So yesterday was my one month bandiversary and I haven't lost any weight for probably 2 weeks. I'm able to eat too much and am worried I'm going to stretch my pouch. Is that a possibility? Had to reschedule my first fill due to work. I'd love to hear about your pre-fill experiences. I need some encouragement.
zeniada 9 Posted January 28, 2011 Life sucked the first 8 weeks after my surgery. I was hungry all the time, I could eat and eat and eat...but then I got a fill and it was a little better, then I got another fill and it was too much and I suffered for 1 month with getting stuck and throwing up at every meal, so I got an unfill and now I am to the point where I can eat till I'm satisfied...the weight is coming off slowly and that is a little frustrating but the point is it's coming off. I stopped comparing myself to others that were banded around the same time I was and just live for the day.. I plan my meals every day try to drink my Water and walk. Basically it took almost 5 mos to get to the point where I am semi-satisfied with my fill level even though I may need a little put it when I get the extra money. HeatherinCA 10 Posted January 28, 2011 I didn't lose much the first few weeks, maybe a pound a week. Don't worry it's normal just watch your calories and what you are eating.
Noturningback15 45 Posted January 28, 2011 I only lost 4 pounds at my 6 week appointment after my surgery which was expected. They let me know that the first month after surgery is a healing process. The weight loss will begin again. I do understand how it can be discouraging to lose all this weight on the liquid diet before surgery in a few days and then it slows up so much! Cheer up! nomorejellybelly 77 Posted January 28, 2011 Hang in there. I mentally have to remind myself that I can't eat more, even when I really want to. It is a struggle sometimes, because sometimes I just want to eat and eat. Make sure you get enough Protein and that should help you feel full for longer period of time. I get worried about the possibility of stretching my pouch, but I'm guessing that long-term overeating would cause that. If I feel like I've eaten too much, I have something to drink to wash it down, but I don't let myself eat anymore.
