blissa033 0 Posted January 28, 2011 So I'm 5 weeks post-op and I've been experiencing really intense breast pain for the last few days. I don't know what it's related to OR if it's even related to the surgery. Basically, I stopped having periods when I hit 200 pounds a few years ago. I had an IUD put in because I was afraid my birth control pills weren't working as well as they could due to my weight. I gained quite a bit of weight from the time I had the IUD put in until my surgery date (about 50 pounds). Since surgery, I've lost about 28 pounds. Enough of my rambling. I'm wondering: * Has anyone experienced intense breast pain after surgery? Should I assume it's hormonal? Or should I get it checked out by my GYN? * For those of you that experienced a complete stop of periods due to weight, when did your periods return after surgery? How much weight should I expect to lose before my periods come back? I'm 25 year old female, by the way, with no history of breast or reproductive issues. Thanks all :-)
goodbyefatty 2 Posted January 28, 2011 I have an IUD as well. I am having the exact opposite problem. I went from nothing to a 7 day period. My Obgyn said it was from too rapid of weight loss. She said when I start loosing slower that it should go back to normal. She said if things continue to change to call her and she would sono to make sure t was still in proper place. anewbeckiboo 1 Posted January 29, 2011 When you say "intense breast pain", are you talking like they feel super heavy and swollen? I've been dealing with that myself and I'm about 5 weeks out as well. As for my period...I've had it non stop for over two weeks now. I'm soooooo ready for that part to be done! My surgeons office said that I wasn't under anestesia long enough for this to be caused "from the surgery"...however, I posted a similar question to yours earlier in the week and MANY women responded that the surgery messed up their cycles...so I'm going with the anecdotal evidence instead of my surgeon and his male nurse
