Stop worrying about something that most likely will not happen. According to my surgeon, band slippage is *rare* and occurs after a lot of abuse. Most surgeons pull a fold of the stomach down over the band to prevent slippage. .
vlp1968 83 Posted January 28, 2011 My surgeon said you know when the band has slipped because you suddenly can't keep anything down- even Water. He told me this happens in only 3% of cases. Try not to worry. I think throwing up is the most common cause of a slip. If you get the flu or something and are vomiting call the doc. and they can prescribe something to stop the vomiting. JJLaw08 4 Posted January 29, 2011 I worried a little as well. I've heard if you get heartburn while laying down at night that that could mean it has slipped. I do that on occasion so I kinda worried about it, but I think it is what I eat .
