to fill or unfill?

I was banded on May 19th, 2010. I've lost about 130 to 135 pounds (I've been fluctuating the last 5 weeks).

I've had 4 fills and if memory serves me, I'm at 8.4cc in a 10cc band.

I haven't been able to eat any meat (fish, chicken, beef, etc) since the 2nd fill unless I chop it up and add to a Soup or Water it down some other way.

If I don't do the above mentioned I will PB whatever I do get down or I'm stuck with one small bite.

I do eat and get my calories in, but I'm tired of eating Soups or meat sauces etc...

I'm debating asking my fill provider to unfill me from my current 8.4cc down to 4cc (where I was after fill #1).

My thought process is that I would be able to resume eating solid protiens in a more healthy manner with the hope and determination that I still manage my portions.

Sometimes I get really frustrated when I PB over and over, it's almost depressing - I end up eating more than I should because I'll consume "slider" foods just so I can get calories in me.

I would really love to get some opinions and feedback. My appointment is Tuesday the 8th of February.

Thanks!

Rebecca

I just went for a band checkup on Jan 25 I have not had any fills yet, have about 2cc in my 10cc band. I answered all the questions about can you eat this and that. I am losing about 1lb weekly. My dr said I do not need a fill. He did a flouro, watched me drink barium and said my band is working perfect where it is. So I asked "but I can eat breads, meats ,fruits all with no problems" and he said that's the way it should be. He says if you cannot not eat foods without getting stuck then that band is to tight. He said too many people think the band's function is to physically stop you from eating foods and this is not correct. He also told me that in his opinion too many bandsters expect the band to be tightened to a point they will never feel hunger or cravings and this just won't happen. Told me that I have to do most of the work and the band will help me. So far so good. He also told me to realize that it will take me 1.5-2 full yrs to lose the 100 lb.

Just wanted to say that if you are having so much trouble eating then maybe your band is too full.

Thanks for all the information! I believe and accept that I am too tight when before I was a bit obsesses with being "tight" because it meant sure weight loss. As we speak I just finished PB'ing...I need an unfill, like yesterday.

Thanks again!

Rebecca

PB = productive burping. swallowing your food but then it can't make it's way past your tight spot so it comes up. it's like vomiting, but it never made it down to your stomach, so it's a "PB"

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
