peprmentpati 8 Posted January 27, 2011 I was banded on May 19th, 2010. I've lost about 130 to 135 pounds (I've been fluctuating the last 5 weeks). I've had 4 fills and if memory serves me, I'm at 8.4cc in a 10cc band. I haven't been able to eat any meat (fish, chicken, beef, etc) since the 2nd fill unless I chop it up and add to a Soup or Water it down some other way. If I don't do the above mentioned I will PB whatever I do get down or I'm stuck with one small bite. I do eat and get my calories in, but I'm tired of eating Soups or meat sauces etc... I'm debating asking my fill provider to unfill me from my current 8.4cc down to 4cc (where I was after fill #1). My thought process is that I would be able to resume eating solid protiens in a more healthy manner with the hope and determination that I still manage my portions. Sometimes I get really frustrated when I PB over and over, it's almost depressing - I end up eating more than I should because I'll consume "slider" foods just so I can get calories in me. I would really love to get some opinions and feedback. My appointment is Tuesday the 8th of February. Thanks! Rebecca
Jess55 97 Posted January 27, 2011 If I were in your position I would definitely get some saline removed. I would not want to have to eat like that.

zeniada 9 Posted January 27, 2011 I was overfilled back in Dec and I got some fill removed because I was throwing up and getting stuck during every meal..The doctor took 1.5cc out and I felt instant relief...However these past 2 weeks I have been getting stuck and throwing up a lot again so I decided to change my eating habits, I use baby spoons and forks and smaller plates that way I am not able to eat fast and eat too big of bites and this has really helped. I do notice unfortunatly that I can eat a lot more then the recommended 1 cup so that is a draw back and I have not lost any weight but will yo-yo from 253-252 just cant break through and I think I may need a very small fill to help with that. I dont know if this has answered or even helped your situation but I thought you would like to hear what happen to someone who got an unfill after suffering for a while. ElfiePoo 109 Posted January 27, 2011 Definitely sounds like you're overfilled, but why do you want so much removed at once and risk going back to the 'hungry' stage...assuming you were hungry at 4cc (the reason one would get an additional fill)? My .02...only drop down to 6cc, be kind to your band in the meantime and in whatever way you must to avoid sliming, stuck and pbing episodes so any swelling will go down. That may mean liquids or mushies for the next week. Then swee what happens from there? .
Kalipso2 25 Posted January 27, 2011 i agree... sounds like a slight unfill might be a good idea. i'm not sure if removing half your Fluid is necessary but i'd talk it over with your doctor for sure! you might have to work a little harder on continuing to lose but you've done a fantastic job already you should be fine! peprmentpati 8 Posted January 28, 2011 Thanks everyone! I will talk all my options over with the Dr., but I really do believe that it's too tight. I really can't eat much at all. I will try a scrambled egg when I get home - if all goes well I'll live off those until my appt on the 8th. If not, protien shakes here I come! thanks again! trishfish 1 Posted January 28, 2011 I def wouldn't remove half of the fill. When I was over filled I had .5 ccs removed and was then again able to eat my solids and veggies. Its amazing what a little bit removed can make a huge difference!
