Vertical thigh lift

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm Maria and I've just joined this forum.

I haven't had a lap band op, but my arms and legs look like I've lost a huge amount of weight because the skin is covered in severe stretch marks and the fat is quite 'hangy'.

When I was 15 I developed hideous and distressing stretch marks on my inner thighs. I also developed more 'normal' stretch marks on my arms and hips, but my legs are unbelievable: red, deep marks, covering my whole inner leg from the knee to the top of my legs. I'm now in my mid 40s and after living with these ugly scars for so long, I'm planning to go for a vertical thigh lift.

Last year I had my first surgery: an arm lift and am delighted with the result. The scar goes from my armpit to elbow and is noticeable but will fade as time goes by, it's just under 5 months ago and my surgeon said scars take a year to mature and fade. I had no pain and the discomfort wasn't overwhelming, epsecially with the excitement of stretch-mark free, thinner arms - they had been fat and 'hangy' before but now they're just right and in proportion with my body. The scars are much better than the hanging fat + stretch marks were.

I'm writing here to ask if anyone has had a vertical thigh lift, which leaves a scar down to the inner knee. I'd love to know how the recovery went for you, and how you coped with practical things such as going to the bathroom, washing, walking, sitting, driving, sleeping etc. I'm frightened of the procedure and recovery but am determined to finally liberate myself from the stretch marks after 30 years, and do things like going swimming again.

Thank you so much

Maria

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
