i had my 3rd fill and it was totally different too. It was very tight for about 3 days, then got a little better and I am at my "sweet spot" for the moment. Been 2 months and still have good restriction. However, the throwing up part is strange. See how it goes. My bites had to get even smaller than I have been doing in the past, but if i take too big of a bite it gets stuck, no matter how well I chew, so remember little little bites and chew chew chew! It seems like with every fill I have to learn to eat differently all over again. Good luck!

me too!!! had 3rd fill about 2 weeks ago... up until this fill I thought the band was a scam because I was always hungry and really all I couldn't eat was eggs and bread, everything else slid on by... BUT NOT ANYMORE. I noticed a difference that day when drinking a Protein shake and had to take a break between sips unlike before. It's definetly tighter, and when I follow the "rules" I'm pretty sure I'm at a good level of restriction. I haven't had to follow the small bites, chew chew chew, wait between bites, no drinking during meals rules at all since surgery, but now if I forget I'm in major pain. I just hope my brain catches up with my band and I remember everytime I eat!!!

3rd fill has renewed my excitement for the band...

You may have some swelling after your fill which is contributing to the tightness feeling. I would strongly suggest that if this prolongs for more than 24 hours you get back to the doctor and get an unfill. Perhaps this time, you just went beyond that "sweet spot" and need a bit of what was placed in this time removed.

Throwing up is not normal after a fill (I've had 5 fills and 1 partial unfill). Sip on your Water and see how a Protein shake feels. If you can't get that down, go back. If you have acid reflux, go back. Those are signs that you are too tight.

Thank you everyone....I FLIPPED TRUCK 3 times yesterday on my way back to the doctor to have fill removed. So i am now home with injured ribs and still filled. I am so grateful to be here. My life could be over but God showed his mercy.I will see how it goes I hate to have it removed and have no restriction

Wow hope your feeling ok!!!!! I think I would have given some more time before having it removed. I felt the same way and I still have a hard time with some foods and eating certain times of the day but the weight is coming off again... Good luck and God is good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
