I had to take my mom to the dr. today and while sitting in the waiting room I crossed my legs (as if I had been doing it all along LOL). I sat there a good 15 minutes reading a magazine and it was like BAM I looked down and I was actually swinging my leg and it had been crossed the whole time. I almost jumped up and shouted right there in the waiting room. I can't tell you how many many years it's been since I've been able to cross my legs. Something as simple as that can bring such joy. Thanks for letting me share.

I know exactly how you feel!!! I have been able to cross my legs for the last month and I was amazed and shocked that I was able to after 15 years of not being able to cross my legs.

Congratulations and to many more NSV's!!!

Good job! Each NSV is better than the next, it's the little thing that you have been missing out on for years that mean the most. I can touch my toes (and I do it often just to prove it to myself..lol) My jeans are hanging off my bottom and suprisingly my shoes are getting floppy. Enjoy each new victory! You work hard for them and you deserve each one! :D

That's awesome. I can't wait to cross my legs and slide under my desk. It might be 30 pounds away, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Congrats to you!

Ain't NSV's the best!!!

The scale moving down is great but the NSV you don't expect puts it in prespective!

CONGRATS!

Congrats!! NSV's are the best especially crossing your legs. I can cross my legs, but also discovered I have bones--my wrist bone is protruding! lol

Thank you all for your support. And Shad I know what you mean about your wristbone, my watch is actually so loose around my wrist I have to keep moving it up to the fattier part of my arm. Hey ANOTHER NSV. LOL.

Non scale victory.

Congrats, I was able to cross my legs the other day, it wasn't as comfortable as it should be but I could do it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
