Feel like I could eat non stop today

Recommended Posts

Okay--for the first time since surgery, I feel like I could just eat and eat and eat.

I am trying to stick to protien and my plan.......but for some reason, today is a "hungry" day.

I no longer PMS (surgical menopause) but it is almost the same feeling.......trying so hard to be good today.

I had 5 potato chips. (not bad since I used to eat 3/4 of a big bag...)

It is so hard when we have challenging days like today. It is too cold to do anything outside today.......hoping bed time comes soon.....

I hear ya Jackie, loud and clear!! I have many days like this, including PMS days! I try to make good choices, but sometimes, it just gets the best of me. If I want something, I just take a little bit for satisfaction. Otherwise, I will keep eating around trying to eat it, and they I end up eating it anyway. Does that make sense? Your 5 chips will not break you. Keep up the great work girl!

Just keep remembering,..50 lbs!!

Ladies - I am right there with you. I have had many days like that also. Like tonight, I had some Charro (mexican-style) pinto Beans I had made this afternoon, but even though I had eaten my portion size, I still felt hungry. I didn't eat any more though, except for one bite of something sweet (to satisfy that craving). I'm still hungry right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
