I need to find a good blender that is small and is able to mix my Protein Shakes. Any suggestions? What kind do you use? I have the regular size blender but don't want to have to take it apart everytime I use it. Thanks!

I hate all blenders so I use a Blender cup that I got from GNC...It has a wire ball inside that blends my Protein Drinks up very well...

I have a Magic Bullet. I bought it a few weeks before my surgery 2 1/2 years ago and I still use it to this day.

I LOVE MY BLENDER BALL! Its a plastic shaker with a wire ball inside just like one of the other posters said. Cheap on Vitacost.com (buy the large size so it shakes well).

I use a cuisinart hand blender. Super easy to charge and I can put it in a drawer when I'm not using it.

Magic bullet is the best , takes up little counter space, has a large and small container to mix things and also different blades. Good luck!!!!!!1

I agree about the Bullet. But for Protein Shakes any container with something in it, even a mesh top, will mix your shakes quickly and effectively and can be cleaned with a quick rinse. GNC is likely your best source for one of those or Bariatric Advantage online has one (my dr office gives them out to each patient).

I need to invest in a hand blender. I guess they have rechargeable ones. I also hate the whole big blender. Too much space and a pain to wash.

I have a little blender from Walmart a Halmilton Beach that I got for $15. You can take it with you and it cleans easily...

I also have the personal Hamilton Beach Blender. The Mixing cup is also a travel mug. It works GREAT with ice cubes. I've had mine for a year now no problems. I like the fact the fact that I don't have to dirty a second cup. Again $15 at Walmart/Target. If I had been working out of the house I would have bought one for work. Great for the price!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
