I am moving back to CA in a few weeks and starting a new job. I have only lost 33lbs, but all of my clothes are looking pretty baggy. I hate to buy new clothes now, but will in the spring. There are no good wills here, or there (20 miles away) but I will probably make the drive to see if I can find anything to wear. I did buy 6 pair of pants in 2 different sizes down so I hope to be able to wear those to hold me over. Great deal, 6pair of pants for $82 on sale.

I am concerned though, because I am moving in with my 27yr old single son until my house closes. This may be a few months. Besides worrying about how we get along I am concerned about cooking that will please both of us. I know there are alot of married bandsters, but this is something I havent had to worry about as I am single. I am flying out rather than driving, so that should save a few days of poor food choices.

I leave on 2/7 and wont have computer access for a few months as my son is 'internet free", and I had to sign a 7pg document outlining the use of the internet while on company premises. Hopefully when I come back I will have made some good progress. I am also keeping my scale in storage so I dont have to stress about it until I get settled.

Just a thought, if you have a smart phone ie. iphone, Droid etc something that you can access internet on you can still access this forum. Also, if there is a library near by you can use their computers.

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
