Are you sore after a slime episode?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so after reading a few more posts I guess the tablespoon of mashed potatoes I ate last night must have gotten alittle stick. I tired to throw up and all that came out was thick clear slime. So I drank some hot Water thinking it would wash it down. More slime but no water came up. Slept through the night- best night sleep. But this morning I'm still sore inside- does that make sense? How could I have handled this better?

My guess is that you are a little sore after your stuck episode. It should settle soon. After sliming, I would have waited a little while before drinking but I don`t necessarily believe that it is the cause of the pain. I don`t know how far you are on your weightloss journey but be mindful of your intake. Saying that, it` really trial and error at times. Provided you go by your surgeon and nutritionist` advice. Good luck.

Your band doesn't like mashed potatoes..:) Did you use a baby spoon size? And may I add, I pray I NEVER have one of these episodes!! Nasty! I just re read your post and you answered that spoon size question.

I have never been sore after at stuck and sliming episode, but I definately don't ever feel like trying to eat again for a few hours later. I remember the first time I got stuck.... a tiny piece of chicken that was too dry!!!! An hour of sliming and PBing, plus I made the mistake of thinking.... maybe a couple sips of Water will get it down, learned real fast liquids just make it worse. I have found that my band is tighter in the mornings, and if I have some hot liquids an hour or so before my first meal it helps.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
