What a wonderful trip it sounds like your having Melissa. I want details please when you get home. This year is our 25th anniversay. Most people would go w/o kids, but ours are adults and we love family time. We are looking to do something with them, not sure what, perhaps a cruise?

Kim-I hope everything goes well with Curtis this morning.

Well I"m off, going to see Debbie in an hour, so I can work on more head stuff!!

ttyl,

This is the first time I have a NEW set...I always get the hand me down or used set from someone. I never thought I would be this excited over a washer and dryer. Ok I know I am weird I am one of those people who loves getting kitchen gadets for gifts. I just think it's so much fun.

Me, too! The dryer busted, the washer still worked but was pretty shot, we just got a new set. I was so happy! My first brand new set. Hope it lasts!!! Congrats. I totally understand your excitement!

Melissa, you go girl! No sitting in a hotel room for you, huh? I'm so glad you went. Yay!!!

So did Karen cry through lunch? Aw girl, hang in there. I'm thinking of you. I don't want you to be sad!!! Give us all the scoop on lunch, ya'll. What did you talk about?! Where did you eat? Did Debbie come? Scoop please!

Let us know how Curtis does.

Speaking of ENTs, my dad has some kind of tumor on his neck...a watkins? tumor? It's benign, but has to be removed. He's having the surgery on the 23rd I think. I'll let you know. I'm concerned for my daddy. He's getting older and health is not as hot as it used to be. Since Christmas, I have been going to his house every Tuesday evening and cleaning. It took 2 weeks in the kitchen and I'm not REALLY done there. Tonight, it's the spare bedroom closet. sigh. Lots to do and it's a real mess. Frankly, it's squalor. There, I said it. SQUALOR! I say! Geez. Single men. Can't do a thing with 'em.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Hi all! I move to my "new" office on Friday. It's two floors down and almost directly below where I am now. I met with my new boss yesterday. We'll need to get to know each other's mannerisms, but I think we'll work together OK. I will get to change my work hours to 7-4 from 8-5. More time in the evening will be great!

Kathy, I made it through lunch without crying. I see my PCP tomorrow and plan on going back on antidepressants.

Kim, I hope Curtis has a good ENT visit!

Kathy, Debbie is coming on the 28th to meet everyone. So think of those questions. I told her about you and how you want the head thing to work with the weight loss. She was encouraged about how you know they have to go together. It is wierd but so many people don't realize that.

I saw her today. I've been seeing her like once a month since I started thinking seriously about the surgery. So I"m getting shrunk while shrinking...lol... I look at her as my girl friend though, not my shrink...my very wise girl friend. It is so great to have her she even gave me some of her 1X's!

We went to Showmars yesterday it was real nice, Kim, Karen and me.

All went well today. Heading to bed now I hope to leave for curves by 7 tomorrow.

night night

Kim I got all excited about a vacum cleaner and kept watching for the ups guy to deliver it. I even had karah excited, to the point when the ups guy finally came she was standing at the door chanting "its the vacum its the vacum" Needless the say the ups guy thought we were a bit crazy.

Kathy I hope everything goes well with your dad. My dad has had two cysts removed on his neck apparently caused by glands or something. It was a relativly easy outsurgery type of thing....I'm sure he will be fine.

Karen I hope you are feeling better, are you excited about the new department?

Diane I might go to a therapist if I could think of them as my friend. I have really only gone with Kristen to her therapists and I didn't feel very comfortable with it.

Today I went to de young musem, saw the pacific ocean, went to the asian tea garden and had tea in the tea house. I also went to the Legion of honor, and walked down clemont street (some cool stores and resturants there) and went to the japanese market and culture center. (basically it was a mall like thing with tons of Japanese resturants, and stores selling asian antiques and gifts. For dinner we rode the trolly out to Fishermans Wharf and had dinner at Seafood resturant there. Pricey...pricey...pricey, we blew the expense account on one meal...actually we went over! I bought the girls some shirts. It's calling for rain tomorrow so will probally go to the macworld expo exhibit floor. According to my husband there is tons of cool apple stuff to buy (he has been talking apple all week...hehehehe) and try to get tot he asian art musuem. I have to be at the airport around 9pm san fransico time tomorrow, thats like 12 our time. I should get home around 7am on Thursday. I'll probally need to take Karah back to the doctor since she is still running a fever when the motrin wears off.

meanwhile off to get som sleep.

Melissa, sounds like you're having a blast! I wanna come

Dianne, I may get additional counseling after I'm banded. I can honestly say I liked the psychologist Dr. Kuwada referred me to for my pre-op.

Kathy, how old is your dad? I hope his surgery is a non-event.

I went to my PCP this morning. Between the uncontrollable sporadic crying and not seeing Aunt Flo for over two months, he's going to check my hormone levels again. I've been perimenopausal for over a year now. The lack of Flo could be full onset of menopause or the result of an endometrial ablation I had last April. If low, he'll start me on replacement therapy ... among other reasons, my hypothyroidism puts me at greater risk for osteoporosis. In the mean time, I'm starting Lexapro. I kid you not, I am the poster child for better living through pharmaceutical drugs!

My port is tilted a little. Got my fill done today under fluro. Back up to 2.5..hopefully this will the magic #.

Ok Dianne he did tell me 2 days liquid - 2 days mushie and then back to normal. I am going to have to go back to some what normal on Sunday we are having dinners at a friends house and I can't ask them to change the menu just for me. Lets hope she has some good veggies.

So hope everyone has a very happy Thursday...I am only working a 1.2 day and I am excited about that.

Melissa did you make it home ok?

Anyone heard how Angie is? Is she home yet? How's she feeling?

Kim will anything have to be done about the port, or is it a wait and see type of thing?

Got home about 7:30 am this morning, and had to take Kristen to school and such. Karah stayed home today, but didn't have a fever anytime I took it...so I might send her to school tomorrow. She defiently wants to go. I'm dead tired right now only got about and hour of sleep on the plane..it was a full flight and everyone was taking their suitcases on instead of checking them. So ended up having to put my laptop bag under the seat in front of me, so there was no place for my feet. And the person sitting beside me took up the arm rest so was pratically sitting on my hip. I did get a bit of a nap this morning...during fariytopia...Karah woke me up to tell me the movie was over. I think I'm going to encourage an early bedtime tonight.

Melissa

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
Consumer Trends and Preferences: Evolving consumer trends and preferences are playing a significant role in driving the alternative sweeteners market. Consumers are increasingly seeking natural and plant-based sweeteners, aligning with broader trends toward plant-based diets and veganism. Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness. Food and beverage companies are responding to these trends by innovating and expanding their product lines to include options sweetened with alternative sweeteners, thereby catering to changing tastes and health concerns of modern consumers.

Additionally, initiatives like sugar taxes in several countries are pushing companies to seek healthier alternatives to traditional sugar.
