GavynsMum 1 Posted January 19, 2011 In my classes i was told i was only going to be able to consume 1 oz every 15 minutes post op. Well, that was not the case. I am able to drink any where from 1 oz to 6 oz in 15 minutes (or 11oz of Protein Shake in 30 min). Not all at one time but not in tiny 1 oz sips. I have never feeled like i was "full" or uncomfortable when drinking this amount. I have felt the "i drank to much to fast feeling" (not pleasant) so i know what it feels like. I keep track of my liquids and i am getting around 60-80 oz a day so i know i am not drinking to much or too little through out the day but worried about at one time. It just seemed wierd that i could eat half a cup of Soup (brothy not creamy) in 15 minutes when i was told i sure as heck wasnt going to be able to do this. Wondering if since everything is liquid it really isnt sitting in my pouch and was slidding through the bigger stomach as well. If i eat yogurt it is a different subject. I can barely finish a little container of it in one sitting so i am only referring to watery liquids and brothy Soups. FYI: I am 10 days post op.
Jess55 97 Posted January 19, 2011 Post op, I too was able to drink more liquids than told I would. But yeah it probably is just going through, since there is basically nothing in your band it just goes right through

Melissannde 41 Posted January 19, 2011 Drinking has never been an issue for me from the get-go and I had 3cc's installed in my band at the time of surgery.
