Mimilou2004 13 Posted January 18, 2011 Mine is $200 price if no insurance, $500 with insurance of which I pay $125. You need to talk to your insurance bcause it doesn't make sense to cover the band and not the fills...maybe they call it something else? Also, you need to call your doc's office to see how much it costs for self pay fills. Mimi

bwhitty 1 Posted January 19, 2011 My surgeon doesn't charge for my first 90days. Then after that I got the procedure code from him and called my insurance to find they pay @100%. If you aren't sure, I'd call who you go to and ask for the code then call your insurance company to know what is your part.
mimi368 0 Posted January 19, 2011 I just have to pay my insurance co-pay when I go in for my fills which is $40.00.
Melissannde 41 Posted January 19, 2011 Mine were covered for the first 90 days too. My insurance has an ASTRONOMICAL deductible.. I mean really really really high, so it's nearly impossible to meet unless someone is very ill.. so yes, doctor visits are mostly out of pocket for us. At my doctor, visits which include fills are 150.00, non fill visits are 75.00. Every doctor is going to have varying rates. You need to call your doctor's billing or insurance clerk and talk to them. I know other people who have bands who have told me they budget for fills just like any other recurring expense. Cocoabean 430 Posted January 19, 2011 Like the others have said, it depends on your insurance. My preauthorization included surgery and one year of follow-up care including fills. After the year when I call for a fill my surgeon submits another preauthorization request. That takes a few weeks, then his office gives me a call to schedule the fill. Give your insurance and surgeon a call to check. I honestly didn't think to ask the question ahead of time either. I was happy to hear that fills were covered!
