How bout when you're numb, but you have an itch that never gets relieved because you're numb!

That's the worst ever!!!

I had staples after my C Section and you can barely tell I was cut :-)

stitches dont hurt but like someone said it might feel weird with them being pulled out. Staples hurt a little more to get out depending on whether you have feeling in the area.

I had staples once around my belly button and I had to have the skin frozen before I had the staples removed. However after my recent panni/tt whatev you want to call it my doctor removed some staples and I didn't even feel it because I have very feeling in my stomach right now.

Some of my current stitches are actually just one long stitch, through my incision instead of a few stitches close together. That will feel really weird to be removed but I don't think painful.

If you're afraid of the pain, ask your doctor if he has something to numb the area before taking them out.

Your Dr. should cut them into individual sutures, if he doesn't then he risks pulling outside irritants and bacteria through the wound and I would be questioning any Dr. that would do that. It's likely he'll clip just under the skin on each side to make sure he can pull them all out on one side. That's the common procedure.

I had staples and they did not hurt to have them removed. I could feel the sensation, but it was not pain. And it was pretty fast! The scars are fading quickly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
