Aristocat 0 Posted January 2, 2006 No. I did a lot of research and I picked Dr. Von Rueden from GBMC in Baltimore.
BarbaraC 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I have an consultation set up with Dr. Schweitzer, MD. I emailed them back in September, they returned my call in October, and now I have the consult set up for the end of February. If you are looking for someone that can see you fast this is not the Dr. for you. I have to do a 6 month diet so he works for me. I am also checking out other Drs in the area. Hope this helps. flexible 0 Posted January 10, 2006 Thanks. I called John Hopkins Obestity Surgery program recently. When I told them I was interested in consulting about lapband they referred me to Dr. Schweitzer's website - http://www.smallscar.com I emailed them today. Thanks for the warning about how long it will take to get an appointment. Is the 6 month diet required by your insurance carrier or Dr. Schweitzer?
Aristocat 0 Posted January 10, 2006 Hey Barbara, Have you checked with Dr. Von Rueden? Because he has a dietician on staff and some insurances require 3 months with a dietician and supervision weightloss. Without the dietician it would be a 6 month supervision. I thought that was interesting. http://www.gbmc.org/mediarelations/BariatricCtrExcel.cfm

BarbaraC 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I have talked to Dr. von Rueden office and will be going to the seminar wed the 25. They claim that they are scheduling surgeries for March right now so that is not too bad. Just need to get some history on this Dr now.
