Bodybugg vs BodyMedia Fit

Recommended Posts

Would you tell me which you feel is the better one? I've researched both, and they seem to both be pretty good.

I do like the idea of the Fit monitoring your sleep as well.

Are either of them waterproof for swimming?

Thanks for your help in making my decision!

Don't forget the FitBit - it also monitors your sleep and though not waterproof (because it can't track swimming) it will allow you to enter that you swam for XX minutes and will add that to your caloric burn. The website is also free with FitBit and the tool itself only costs $99. I've been using it for a year now and love it. It tracks effortlessly. Is very effective. And is much much less expensive than the other options.

You can wear the Bodybugg while sleeping also. In the online program you can set your wake hours and sleep hours. For example, I set mine as being awake at 6:30am and bedtime as 9pm. The Bodybugg isn't waterproof so I do have to take if off during showers. However, the Bodybugg knows when its off the body so when you go to upload it to your computer, you can tell the program what you were doing while it was off the body. It then can give you an estimate as to what you were burning during that time.

I love my Bodybugg. It has helped me lose a lot of weight.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
