Talktime 0 Posted January 15, 2011 I was at 6.2 CC;s in a 7 CC lapband and felt no restriction at all and can eat everything and I never feel full. I went to the doctor today for another fill and he told me I should be feeling something so he checked and I did has Fluid in my band (he took some out) so now he thinks when he did one of my past fills (i've had 4 so far) that some of the liquid might have bubbles out the top of the port when he was filling it and got absorbed into my tissue. The problem now is he doesn't know how full my band is now!!!!! He put another 0.6 in this morning and told me if I start to throw up or anything over the weekend to go to the hospital but I came home and tried eating and I can eat everything still (big bites) and still fill no restriction. Does anyone have any suggestions to me on what I should tell him to do now, he didn't really say to much and just booked me into see him in a month.
PackersFan 4 Posted January 15, 2011 OK this is just my opinion here... but I think that is totally ludicrous! There was a little bit of a question how much I actually had in my band on my last fill visit, and all my Dr. had to do was take out all of the Fluid and then he could tell where my fill amount actually was when he put it all back in. The nurse told me that sometimes with your first few fills there is a little bit of "dead" space in the band, and often patients aren't quite as full as they first think. I'm currently at 7.2 in an 11 cc band, but I feel confident that it is a true 7.2,

ElfiePoo 109 Posted January 21, 2011 I would start wondering about the intelligence level of your doctor. All he has to do is draw all the Fluid out to find out what's in there. That's where I'd start. Tell him you want him to draw all the Fluid out to know for certain. .
