Southern Leo 0 Posted January 14, 2011 I have been banded over 2 weeks, since 12/28. About the first 4 days I had such muscle aches on my sidees. That felt better but I could feel twinges afterwards. This morning I woke up with a muscle cramp on the same side my port is on. I don't know if that's why or it's coincidence. Everytime I moved it hurt. I yelled out so much my daughter came in to see why. I came to sit in recliner wondering if sitting up would help. I also took some pain medicine since I had over half left. I had been trying to stretch out my sides everyday. I even have an appt to get a massage this afternoon. I want to help make exercise pain free as soon as I can. Anyone else have this problem? Has anyone gone for a massage after surgery and did it help? I go to a massage school nearby at a reduced cost. Of course I'll let them know I had surgery and see if that presents any problem for them. I may put pillows under head of my mattress to see if it hellps to lift it. mom2amwt 3 Posted January 14, 2011 Banded on 1/11/11. I did not have a good night last night and I too woke up in pain. I am ready to feel better now...... I'm pretty sure it's just the gas pains... Enough already .
mom2amwt 3 Posted January 14, 2011 Also - I read somewhere (so it may not be true) that you should get clearance from your dr before you have a massage. there could still be a risk of blood clots becoming dislodged. good luck.
Southern Leo 0 Posted January 14, 2011 That's one of the things I'm famous for so I take coumadin to prevent clots. I've had 3 blood clots in my legs at different times. So now I will have to always take it. I'll give them a call to make sure Also - I read somewhere (so it may not be true) that you should get clearance from your dr before you have a massage. there could still be a risk of blood clots becoming dislodged. good luck.
