Definitely freeze them because 20 squares a week at a 160-170 calories each is well over 3000 calories and you state that you were making a box a week. So you not only did yourself a favor but your kids as well. Even if you ate two squares a week and your husband and the kids also had 2 squares, you wouldn't gain as long as the rest of the time you were balanced (ask me about my ice cream fetish and I have lost 88lbs this year)

So you would have 13 brownies in the freezer which would feed you, hubby and kids almost 2 weeks and you have reduced four boxes of brownies a month to one and drastically reduced the caloric intake without doing without your favorite treat. The subsitutions are also nice but I know the boxes are easier to make but it could make you feel even less guilty(though I wouldnt over two lousy brownies)

Frozen brownies are yummy! I freeze a lot now because I just can't eat it(Soups, chilis, everything I think is freezable)

Hi,

I am new to this board and am wondering how you all got your 'Ticker' tape at the bottom of your messages? Can someone tell me. I already have a code but don't know where to put it. Thanks.

BJLS

You replace the oil with applesauce. Use the exact same amount (1/4 cup oil equals 1/4 cup applesauce). I learned that tip from Weight Watchers. They taste fine but they don't rise as high. I did the switch on a guy that I was dating a couple of years ago. He said they taste fine but they look different. I made it about 5 hours before I caved and told him what was different. But I had the weight problem, not him. So he agreed to the compromise.

I don't see anything wrong with us enjoying treats. No one can expect to NEVER eat a treat for rest of our lives. But, I agree, you can't bring trigger foods in the house. I always had trigger foods in the house because I thought I was being economical. It's cheaper to buy the larger bag vs. an individual serving. But in the end (literally) it wasn't economical at all.

I take joy in discovering my bad habits and finding a healthy alternative. We can do this!

To add your code, go to your profile signature and "edit". Paste the code there. Do the same thing every time you want to update your weight.

Thank you for the brownie recipe! I'll keep it for the times I need to have dessert on hand!

I applaud you for not cheating for this long - great job! I agree with the freezing, and using applesauce...sometimes you do need quality of life over time, not saying never to yourself only reserve for the special times.

Just face it.

Brownies are evil.

So are Oreos.

And warm, home made chocolate chip Cookies.

and potato chips and dip

:P But that is why I have a band! I can have a normal sized person serving and survive! I am in control now, not the food. (Okay, so I admit I haven't made any chocolate chip Cookies since the band or bought Oreos but the others I have.......)

It is tough with a family. Fortunately my daughter is 17 yrs old and understands. My 80 yr old father (who lives with me) doesn't always get why I am not eating smashed potatoes or Pasta.......but I do what I need to do to succeed,

A second vote for the No Pudge Fudge Brownies! They are delicious. They are 110 calories for 1/12 of a box. You can also use the mix to make one at a time, which might be a good way to limit the number of servings. Tell your hubby to have his brownies at a restaurant!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
