i think your ok. I haven't heard of anyone having compications with the location of the port. i can feel a little bump where mine is and thats it. I would say your ok unless the port totally moves sides or something

Should you be concerned? No, not at this point. Wait till you go in for your first fill and then if they can't access your port, then you can be concerned. Relax, it's likely just your body changing as you recover from surgery.

Maybe now that the swelling has gone down it is a bit more difficult to find?

The only way you will know for sure is when you go for a fill and your doctor tries to access the port.

But like the others have said, in all likelihood you are just fine.

I know some days I feel mine and some days not. Don't know why but that's just how it is.

when i was healing i had a hard marble sized lump that i thought was my port. it was sore and i could feel it with my hands. but later in the healing process the swelling went down and when i went for my 1st fill i was suprised how low they stuck me. Its probably just your incision healing. good luck :)

My port moved on it's own and now sits on one of my ribs. The doc did not put it there. It's also turned a bit so my poor doc has to jab around to find the opening. Very weird sound hearing the needle hit plastic. I only feel anything if I lean hard onto a counter. Where I thought the port was after surgery was wrong.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
