zeniada 9 Posted January 10, 2011 So I was reading an older post called "typical diet after lap band" where the poster asked what a typical diet would be like.... I read on some of these responses that a banster should be eating 3-4oz of food per meal!!! Is that for real? I have been banded since Aug 2010 and didnt know that!! Can someone please let me know if this is real, If so then no wonder why I'm not losing weight! I've been eating toooooooooo much!! Thanks, Zen

zeniada 9 Posted January 10, 2011 Elfipoo put it best by saying this in another topic: If you can do it...more power to you, I guess...but if you can't, then the next best thing is to eat a reasonable, balanced meal...3-4 oz of Protein, 1/2 cup vegies and 1/4 cup starches (if you're still hungry). If you find you're still hungry between meals because you aren't at your sweet spot, then eat a hard boiled egg, or an ounce of cheese, or some other type of Protein. Even a low carb low cal Protein shake is better than dropping into bad food habits.
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted January 10, 2011 Yeah you have to be careful cause to much Protein will cause you not to lose or will make you gain too. But typically I eat only about 3 to 4 oz of food since my last fill.

CheckYes 46 Posted January 11, 2011 WOW 4-6 tablespoons ONLY!!! I'm really not following the guidlines then... For now, I am still on 1/2 cup of food per meal. I am supposed to be ramping up over the next three weeks to 1 cup per meal. No Snacks.

Then, if you are still hungry, eat up to 1/2 cup of vegetables (not starchy veggies).
4MyHealth2011 0 Posted January 11, 2011 My instructions sound like yours... 3 meals at 2 liquid ounces per meal. Only one protien shake per day can be used to substitute for a meal. For now I am able to do that. Its only a week since my first fill. I know I should try to do without substituting a meal with a shake for a while. My instructions warn that shakes can cause the pouch to reduce in size that filling the pouch with solids is the best. My instructions for "week 7 and beyond" is 3 small meals and 1 small snack per day with each meal being no more than 4-6 tablespoons.
