sam3841 57 Posted January 9, 2011 I would really love to hear from someone who also has lupus. I am 21 and have have lupus for oh 5 years. I really want to know about any differences with the band that you have experienced. I have had a good time with mine banded on 23rd of Nov. I was worried about erosion, my dr told me we are especially prone to it. How do your meds work with the band? I am on plaquial (sp), I broke down and decided to finally take some. Just wanted to get to know someone in the same boat. Love, Sam
ellenmarie 0 Posted January 9, 2011 Hey sam3841... I am 28 and was diagnosed with psudo-lupus in Semptember. Basically I have all the symptoms but a negative ANA. (My doctor won' t say I have full blown Lupus till she see's the positive ANA). They are treating me as if i was diagnosed with full lupus though. I am also having to be tested every 3 months to see if I get a positive ANA. Weird I know. I was banded in October and so far I have had no complications what so ever. I am taking my meds regularly and have actually noticed that the joint pain is decreasing since I started losing the weight. Don't get me wrong there are still days I can't get out of bed and all but it is getting better. Keep an update of how things are going and I will do the same
