for those that have lost ALOT of weight, what are you going to do about the extra skin?

Recommended Posts

that was a much easier surgery. Had that done too (no not a surgery addict!) It was well worth it!

I am just starting my journey, though I am already 80lbs lighter than my highest weight. I have a feeling my skin is not going to be good, my thigh area seems a bit loose already. I am not sure weather I'd do a Tummy Tuck or not, but my boobs have pointed down for as long as I can remember and I have always said when I lose weight I'd have them done.

Definitely getting PS. I do plan to do a lot of weight-lifting and programs like P90X (which I start in 4 weeks :D) to see if it helps any. I know building muscle tone can work wonders, so we will see. In the end I know I'll need PS but I'm giving myself more time to save up and be as healthy as possible.

I have lost ALOT of weight and the only problem area I have is my tummy which I would like to have a Tummy Tuck and my insurance will pay for it if it is medically necessary. So as I have noticed others are doing I do the same when I go to the doctors I complain about any issue I am having and make sure they note it. I have had rashes and yeast infections and then bacterial infection from the yeast infection opening up and getting worse. So if you have insurance make sure you complain to your doctor as well if you have any problems (rashes). Good Luck its a hard journey but well worth it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
