Fill frequency

Hey everyone. First of all I want to introduce myself because this is my first post, though I've been lurking for a couple months. My name is Diana and I was banded Dec 17 2010. It's been such a crazy fast process and the aftercare is no different. I went to the seminar Nov 16th and literally a month and one day later I was banded.

I'm covered for post op care for the next three months. However, since my insurance switched in 2011 and I don't know if the new insurance will cover fills and aftercare, my surgeon's office has been great about moving things along quickly so I can get the most out of these 3 months.

I had my first fill yesterday, at 3 weeks post op. The nurse practitioner (who was great and quick with the fill! No pain or trouble finding the port thankfully) told me I should make the most of this 3 months period and I can come back as frequently as every week for fills if I'm still hungry. I totally trust his opinion, I know he's been doing this a long time, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had fills so frequently. Is there any reason not to go so frequently?

Thanks!

Diana

I'd say go for it. Usually they try to stretch it out to 3 and 4 weeks and that is just more time in "bandster- hell" (the time without restriction). I don't see any reason not to have a fill that frequently other than the pain of getting off work so often. The sooner you hit the sweet spot, the sooner you will be on your way to weight loss and your new life.

Good luck on your journey!

My Dr. does the fills and he has me in once a month. Once a week seems fairly fast.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
