carolann0117 5 Posted January 7, 2011 One of the main reasons I've had problems losing weight in the past is due to a Hypo-active thyroid. I wonder if anyone else here has a thyroid problem and is finding success with the lap band. So far, I'm doing very well..... and I'm praying and hoping I don't hit that hypo-thyroid wall and my weight loss stalls. If this doesn't work... I'll be pretty upset. Please let me know if you can relate!!!
MaineJackie 3 Posted January 7, 2011 I don't have a thyroid and take synthroid. I have no issues losing weight (the issue is usually keeping it off). I think the reasons why someone is hypothyroid may impact how they lose weight. If someone has autoimmune thyroid disease etc......I think it may be more challenging. I do fine because my TSH is consistent on my dose of synthroid.
thejaketucker 1 Posted January 7, 2011 I have hypo thyroidism and I hope this surgery helps my condition. I had surgery on 12/15/10 and I am still on 200mcg or levothyroxine. I will be having some blood tests soon and I hope The weight loss has helped
djmixon 1 Posted January 10, 2011 I have hypothyroidism and take synthroid, too. that is just one of my many health conditions that I pray this will help get rid of. I have not had a hard time, except this weekend... I was starving and cheated, albeit I still ate less than 800 calories and I cut everything up tiny and chewed until my jaws hurt. I am back on liquids now because I am only on week 2 and should not have pushed my luck. ugh....... Anyway, here is hoping things get better. I am wondering if the thyroid issue and the fact that I take prednisone had anything to do with my ravenous appetite this weekend..... Anyway, I am more vigilent now and need your prayers as well.
