Does anyone else "feel full" in their mid-back?

Recommended Posts

I think I found my "full" feeling, but it's not where I expected. I think I'm feeling it in my mid back. Does anyone else feel it here? I was expecting to feel it in my chest or in my esophogus but I'm wondering if this feeling in my back is my new "full".

I am feeling this currently...it's a very tight feeling in my upper back between my shoulder blades. When I was first banded I used to feel it in my left upper chest it was not super uncomfortable but I didn't wanna eat anymore to find out if it could be..lol! Right now I am full, I feel full and gosh darn it that is good enough for me! :D

Yeah, I ate a lot at lunch today and had that back feeling for a while....but was not at all hungry the whole rest of the day (it's now 6pm and I'm STILL not hungry). I'm pretty sure I was "full". Wow...now if I could just get that feeling on half as much food, because I'm relatively certain I ate more than 1/2 cup of food. I need to pack measuring devices to restaraunts for a while I think...just to get a better idea of what is what.

Back pain was my "full" for the 1st say 6 weeks or so I thoughtg great this is gonna be easy to figure out. That was before a fill and I just had the restruction of "healing swelling" a few weeks later my back fullness was gone and I couldn't find any anywhere ! Sadley I am now 4 months out with 7cc's in my band and I have yet to feel restriction again like I did those 1st few weeks.

Yep! My back is where I feel full the majority of the time. I don't like the feeling. It isn't very comfortable. Sometimes I feel it in my chest, but I think that's when I overeat. It's hard to get used to and I'm not used to it yet. Some say that if you feel it in your back, you may be eating too fast or not chewing enough. This could be true for me, as I have not had a "stuck" episode yet and have only had one fill. I still eat almost as fast as I did before being banded, although I do try to chew more. It just seems that I swallow it almost automatically and can't stop it from going down. Anyway, this is how it is for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
